Ninja Tune are one of our all-time favourite labels, and this year they’ve been busy celebrating their silver anniversary with a series of extra special parties. Having just laid on the first at ADE, the next arrives on the 30th October at spectacular VENUE St. John at Hackney. Put on by new, boundary-pushing promoters Clock Strikes 13, the epic line-up consists of dub trio King Midas Sound (The Bug, Roger Robinson, Kiki Hitomi), Fennesz, the first ever UK show of Shackleton’s Powerplant project, and a rare set from esoteric mastermind Dean Blunt.And that’s not all! On Friday 20th November they’re bringing Actress (playing a live set), Lowtec and Florian Kupfer to The ICA, while on Saturday 12th December they’re laying on HNNY, Flako and Josey Rebelle to Corsica Studio's shadowy spaces.Head this way for tickets. Midland steps up to mix the next Fabriclive compilation
Midland — the man behind one of last year's biggest tracks and the winner of last year's Essential Mix of the year — has mixed the next Fabriclive mix compilation.'Fabriclive 94: Midland' will be released this September and is described by Midland's Harry Aguis as "an ode to the many facets of club culture"."My relationship with FABRIC stretches back about 15 years," explains Aguis. "My friend Joe and I were fixated with the CDs, the artwork, the mysterious tins containing MUSIC we didn't know yet."The mix was sequenced partly a Corsica Studios and then finished at his studio with the help of his trusty ES mixer, two CDJs and a reverb peddle.Midland admits the "inspiration behind the mix was to do a club mix — but one that represented a night out and the emotions you experience within it."'Fabriclive 94: Midland' will be released on Friday 22nd September 2017.Check out the full tracklist below.Tracklisting: 1. Fabrics Room Two soundsystem sells for £11700
Fabric has sold its legendary Room Two soundsystem on eBay for £11,700, it has been announced today.The unnamed new owner beat out 95 other bids to win the auction, with half the proceeds from the sale being donated to Corsica Studio's co-founder Amanda Moss to help her fight against a rare form of ovarian cancer.The soundsystem has now been replaced by a new Pioneer Pro Audio rig, meaning the old system was surplass to requirements and could be sold off.The iconic London club decided to put the soundsystem (minus the amps) up for auction via eBay, with half the proceeds going to the Corsica co-founder Amanda Moss, who is trying to raise £100,000 for special cancer treatment in Germany.At the time of writing the MUSIC community has generously donated £51,000 towards her £100,000 goal.Whoever bought the sound system is now the proud owner of an iconic piece of London's DANCE MUSIC history and also has the ultimate house party rig.Media: s-l1600.jpgFabricSoundsystemSoldeBayHalf the money will go towards Amanda Moss' cancer treatment...Navigation Section:NewsSection Priority:Priority 1
Corsica studio cofounder Amanda Moss loses her battle with cancer
Corsica co-founder Amanda Moss has lost her battle with cancer after her health deteriorated rapidly over the weekend."It is with great sadness that I have to let you know that Amanda's health deteriorated rapidly over the weekend and at 8:30 PM yesterday evening she passed away peacefully," reads a post on the Gofundme page that was setup to raise funds for her treatment in Germany."Amanda's family and I would like you all to know how much we appreciate the numerous messages of support, donations and fundraising activities that have been offered over the last few months as they really gave her a chance to try the treatments she needed and to face this illness on her own terms," the Gofundme post adds."She was incredibly brave but unfortunately some battles are too big and, despite her determination, positivity and will to succeed, this was one that she just couldn't win."The DANCE MUSIC community has paid tribute to Moss who was instrumental in making Corsica Studios in South London one of the capital's most loved VENUE .Amanda's role in giving new talent their chance to perform and develop their careers has seen her tireless work in the MUSIC industry
